CHARLOTTE

WSOC Ch. 9 (NBC)

7:30 I've Got A Secret
8 PM Rowan And Martin's Laugh-In

...I see in Part 1 of this post that Knoxville's NBC affiliate, WATE/6, also aired this combination, and that Richard Dawson appeared on both shows that season. WATE wasn't a satellite of WSOC, was it? How many other NBC affiliates did this scheduling in the Autumn of '72?...

Nope, just a coincidence. WSOC was and is
owned by Cox; WATE at the time by Nationwide
Communications (now Young Broadcasting).
Incidentally, both stations are now ABC affiliates
(WSOC switched in 1978, WATE in 1979).

I'm not sure how many NBC affiliates carried
I've Got A Secret in that particular version.
I was living in Birmingham, and our then-ABC
affiliate, WBRC/6, carried it on Thursdays at
6:30 (Central); it was also carried on the
then-ABC affiliate in Atlanta, WQXI (WXIA),
on Sundays at either 7 or 7:30. Channel 11
carried the whole Goodson-Todman triad, with
What's My Line? at 7 and To Tell The Truth at
7:30 Monday-Friday (Channel 6 carried Truth
but not Line).

I keep thinking WRC/4, NBC in Washington, DC,
carried Secret but I'm not sure and could use some
help on this one.
