An accompanying article pointed out that Channel 5 first hit the air two days earlier to telecast President Truman’s speech in Fort Worth. The article called that broadcast the first telecast south of St. Louis.

Plans were for WBAP-TV to be on the air Wednesday through Saturday, about four hours per evening. Test patterns were scheduled for Monday-Saturday 10 AM-Noon and 3-5 PM.

BTW the first TV listing in the Dallas Morning News actually had a typo. It listed “Scarlet Pimpernel” starting at 9PM. The article listed it correctly at 8 PM.
