How did Ch. 62 manage to run "CBS Sunday Morning" and "Face the Nation" at 8 and 9:30 AM ET, respectively? "CBS Sunday Morning" isn't fed until 9 AM ET. I've never known there to be an early feed of those shows for the Eastern Time Zone.

Whoops there was a mistake in the schedule, I'll correct this...

WGPR 62 - CBS Detroit
8:00 am - News'thy
8:30 am - Evangel Temple
9:00 am - CBS Sunday Morning
10:30 am - Face the Nation

WJBK did the same thing that our WAGA (Atlanta) did back then--black out the entire CBS Saturday morning schedule up to their switch to Fox.

One odd thing: WDIV aired WCW wrestling... and on Saturday morning? Seems out of place for a Big Three affiliate, and an unusual time slot, too. I always knew that TBS and TNT carried WCW programs until the promotion folded, but I had no idea that WCW was even syndicated to local broadcast stations other than what was then WTBS.

NWA/WCW aired on WPIX(pre WB / CW) ch. 11 from 1987-91, then moved to WCBS (CBS) ch. 2 late Saturday nights / Sunday mornings 12:35am from 1991-97, then moved to WWOR (UPN) ch. 9 airing on Sunday's at noon from 1997-2000 then ending up at midnight on WLNY (Indy) ch. 55 until the WWE bought WCW in March 2001.

Also for a brief time WNBC (NBC) ch. 4 aired NWA Worldwide in the spring/summer 1990.

I always knew that TBS and TNT carried WCW programs until the promotion folded, but I had no idea that WCW was even syndicated to local broadcast stations other than what was then WTBS.

I recently looked at some '80s Detroit/Toledo listings, and WJBK carried WWF wrestling Saturdays at 11am for a number of years, bumping-off the final two hours of CBS' Saturday morning lineup. Some of those shows either aired the next week on delay or not cleared at all.

I can't remember when WCW started offering syndicated shows, although it may have been not long after the ownership transition from the Crockett family to Turner Broadcasting. I do remember back to at least 1992 that WCW was airing a syndicated show; KCAL here in Los Angeles carried WCW on Saturday mornings for a couple of years until the shows moved elsewhere or were cancelled. WCW Worldwide (their last syndicated show before they folded) aired here on KTTV Saturday afternoons at 4pm.
