This can't be 1959...it looks more like 1965 or '66. ???

I was thinking the same thing....perhaps even later than that because of the mention of Vietnam war protests and so many color shows.

And WKBD in the listings, i think it could be more 1965/66, since WKBD didn't even broadcast anything until January 1965.

Re: Retro: Detroit Sat, Nov 20, 1965

This would be November, 1965 since "Shindig" went twice-a-week (Thursdays and Saturdays, each for a half-hour) in the Fall of 1965, but was gone by January.

BTW, the first period of the "Hockey Night In Canada" game on CBC (CKLW-9) was not televised. The telecast was joined in progress either towards the end of the first period or between the first and second periods. It's possible that by this time, goals scored before the telecast began may have been shown on videotape at the start of the telecast.

I don't think "HNIC" did regular-season games in full until 1967 or 1968.

According to Shrp Sports.com, Montreal was also playing that night (hosting the New York Rangers) and I would think that the Montreal game was seen on CBC stations in Quebec (and maybe the Maritimes) as well as on all SRC (CBC French) stations (Back then, I think all SRC TV stations were in Quebec).

And thanks to her lead-in, it's my guess that "Juliette" was probably the second most-popular CBC show (and maybe the second most-popular show on Canadian TV) at the time.

Yep...that should read 1965, don't know how I missed that when I was proofreading :D...I do have 50s Motown listings in the archives, but not from that late in the year...

She was so popular, she was known as "Our Pet Juliette" :D
