Wow. An all-music market. My oh my how things have changed in almost 50 years.

Interesting how little change there has been in FM frequencies. 98.3 moved to 98.1, which allowed the creation of WMMO on 98.9, and I assume 102.3 moved to 102.7 to upgrade. Tons of call letter and format changes, obviously, and I'm sure quite a few tower moves and upgrades, but almost no new facilities.

WPRL was an educated guess...it was listed as 89 FM, but there's no station at that frequency COLed to Winter Park, but there's 2 in Orlando area on 88.9...

For comparison....

according to my old logs....
WHKR started in 1989
WYRL (by then WGGD) was moved to 95.1 in the early 1990s so that a station in Jensen Beach could take 102.3

kw - Melbourne

I remember when the WDIZ tower collapsed in 1973 killing several engineers. Terrible tragedy. I used to listen to both WDIZ and WBJW in Dunedin Fla (North of Clearwater) Used a 10 element FM antenna. Could also pick up WDBO Ch 6. Better programming than what we had in Tampa at the time.
