Kind of lame for WUSN to sign-on at 9:45 in the morning. But that's what it was back in the mid 60s. Channel 4 WCIV wasn't listed, but that station had NBC programming for the Lowcountry.

None of our local stations had weekend late news. This lasted on one station into the 90s. A couple didn't even have 6pm shows until around '90 on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Local weekend newscasts were hard to find in those days. For
example, in the North Carolina edition of TV Guide on Saturday,
February 19, 1966, there are 6 PM newscasts (each 30 minutes)
on WECT, WITN, and WSJS (WXII) leading into NBC's "Scherer-
MacNeil Report." WBTV (CBS) does 10 minutes of sports and news
at 6:50; WFMY leads out of the CBS Evening News With Roger Mudd
with a 30-minute newscast at 7.

Things are a little better at 11:

WNBE (WCTI) (ABC) 10:45-11
*WFMY and WBTV (CBS) 11-11:20
**WNCT and WTVD (CBS) 11-11:15
WRAL (ABC) 11:15-11:25 (follows ABC's newscast)
WITN and WSJS (NBC) 11:15-11:30 (only because NBC's
movie, "Meet Me In Las Vegas," ran until 11:15 instead
of 11 PM)

On Sunday, February 20, there are no early newscasts,
except for NBC's "Frank McGee Report" at 6. WFMY is the
only station with a (15-minute) local newscast at 11 PM.

* Technically, WBTV was affiliated with all three networks;
CBS was its primary one.

** Technically, WTVD was affiliated with CBS and NBC;
CBS was its primary one.

You have to get into the '70s before you find most stations
doing 30-minute newscasts at 6 and 11 on Sunday. IIRC,
no ABC affiliate had an early local newscast on Saturday
until WSOC switched from NBC to ABC in 1978, and WRAL started
one about the same time (far cry from Atlanta, which even had
noon newscasts on weekends as far back as 1972, and the station
that started that trend was then-ABC affiliate WQXI, later WXIA).
