WYAH TV 27 was quite a weak station back in 1970. Not enough religious shows to fill even half a day. The secular shows were low budget for the most part. They would remain on the air only about 6 to 8 hours a day until late in 1971. From late in 1971 to the Fall of 1973, WYAH gradually increased their broadcast day. Bit by bit they began to acquire stronger programming. By 1972 they were on the air at noon. By early 1973 they were on the air daily by 10 AM. And late that year they were on the air by 7 AM with a 19 hour broadcast day. So that station came a long way in less than 4 years. In the 70's they were actually a conventional independent with no more religious proigramming than most independents back then except on Sunday, which did change as well in 1980. Their sister stations grew in the same way soon after from about 1973 to 1975.
