RETRO: Fairbanks, AK (Labor Day, September 5, 1994)

Unless if they were able to catch it in Anchorage or the Lower 48 (either living or vacationing there), this was the day many fans of a certain game show have waited ten years for...and you'll see why!

Like I said years ago...Super Jeopardy! on KATN in summer 1990 was Fairbanks' only Jeopardy fix; even though then-sister station KTVA in Anchorage has had Jeopardy! since 1985 or '86; KTVF had resisted carrying it even after picking up nighttime Wheel in 1988. But I guess with the imminent arrival of the NFL on KFXF and Fox, they felt it was time for a programming change.

Wheel and Jeopardy would move to KATN in 1997 (yes, right in line with the ABC O&Os), where they have remained ever since.
