By the fall of 1973 at the latest. A guy who lived across
the hall from me in the dorm brought one with him from
Columbus that fall; that was my first look at the South
Georgia edition. I know that in the summer of '73 my dad
was bringing back copies of the Northern Florida edition from
Jacksonville (it had Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, and
the Orlando affiliates--WESH, WDBO (WKMG), and WFTV), and
I remember when WCJB switched from NBC to ABC because of that.

Wikipedia confirms that the South Georgia and Northern Florida editions
began in 1973 (there had been an earlier Northern Florida edition from
1960-62).
