It would be interesting to compare this with the ITV network schedule to see if the athletics were shown nationwide. At first I thought STV had pre-empted Coronation Street, almost unthinkable, but on checking realised the third weekly episode didn't start until October of that year.

Note also Take The High Road at six thirty, Scotland's very own soap opera. Some other ITV regions showed it in the afternoon, but only STV showed it in the early evening.
