Captioned ABC News on channel 57? Huh?

Open Captioned news for the deaf. WGBH prodcued (re-produced?) the broadcast, inserting additional stories, sports scores, and late-breaking news to fill the 30 minutes. The newscast ran post 11pm on PBS stations during the late 70 and early 80s.

The first one can't be right; how could Tic Tac Dough be airing in New York on two stations? And I thought Vidal Sassoon's show was originally on WABC.

2-3 CBS Afternoon Playhouse "The Great Gilly Hopkins" (pre-empts One Day at a Time and Match Game on 2, punts John Davidson to 5pm on 3)

What exactly was the normal afternoon schedule for WFSB that week? Did they have a 5:30 newscast after John Davidson?

There's more:

Bluenoser said:
7:00
7-8-40 Good Morning America
8 Richard Simmons

Another typo. Please explain this one.

Bluenoser said:
8 Soup Man (Joesph Buttafuoco (as in Amy Fisher?) plays a teen gang member who abandons his fellow members when an aged victim helps him develop a sense of self-worth)

What normally aired here as well?

Sorry for so many questions, but all of these mistakes in this schedule don't make much sense.

Simmons actually aired on ch 9, I'll check the skeds re ch 3 late afternoon and the 7:30 show for ch 8...

The 10:30 listing is what TVG had listed...was TTD networked at the time? Sassoon's show was indeed on WNEW in 1981.

WFSB usually ran Davidson 4-5:30, followed by Barney Miller...WCBS only ran the first hour at 5.

Channel 8 usually ran Family Feud at 7:30.

Hard to believe WFSB actually pre-empted "The Price Is Right".

What did 27 air at 3 PM after "Candid Camera" - or was it a full hour?

(Remember that 27 switched to pay-TV at 7 PM.)

It was a half-hour, completely forgot 27 was running STV at that point. My guess is they must have signed-off at 3, before starting the pay TV shows at 7...

Around this time, WSMW expanded the Preview STV service into the afternoon hours seven days a week, and by the following year, began carrying it all day every day, with only two hours of regular programming. Hours for Preview were cut back in 1985, and was eliminated altogether later that year when WSMW became WHLL, under new owners.
