KHOU pre-empting Love of Life at 10:30 AM is the first pre-emption I've seen of the show prior to CBS's move of the show to 4:00/3:00 PM which would take place three weeks from this schedule on April 23, 1979. Most station schedules I've seen had CBS stations carrying the show at 11:30/10:30 AM following Price is Right up until CBS's schedule change. I think CBS wanted the show to fail considering it gave One Day at a Time reruns preference at 3:30/2:30 PM following Guiding Light where Love of Life could have aired without subject to pre-emption by many stations in the later timeslot.

KHOU flipped the CBS daytime reruns of "M*A*S*H" and "All in the Family." I'm guessing KHOU didn't feel it was appropriate to air AITF right after "Captain Kangaroo."

Good call
