A few observations:

Channel 8's Vince Leonard was later at KYW-TV Philly and KTAR-TV/KPNX Phoenix.

Dumont was pretty much gone by June '55, but IIRC both WTTV and WISH carried some Dumont programming prior to the network's almost-complete shutdown a couple of months earlier.

WTTV transmitted from Cloverdale IN, west of Indy, at the time and was the de facto NBC affiliate for Terre Haute as well. Channel 4 swapped affiliations with WFBM-TV in 1956, becoming independent in '57 when WLWI 13 started. I don't know when or why they moved their transmitter from Cloverdale to Trafalgar (1956 or '57?). Were there problems covering Bloomington and/or Columbus from there? Storm knock the tower down? That was before my time (this listing is about 2.5 months before I was born).

I'm surprised TV Guide didn't list WFAM-TV 59 (now WLFI-TV 18) in this edition. It was listed starting in 1958 at the latest. The station had been on the air since June 1953.

The Curley Myers listed under Indiana Hoedown on WFBM-TV was the same guy who would co-host the Three Stooges show with Hal "Harlow Hickenlooper" Fryar 10 years later. He had his own show on Channel 6 prior to that, but I don't see it in this 1955 listing.

The next day, Sunday June 12th., the NBC TV network would simulcast the first hour of "Monitor," the new NBC weekend radio service from their Radio Central studios in New York. It would continue on radio until Midnight Eastern time that evening, and the following weekend began nearly 2 decades of entertaining and informing Americans all weekend long.

10:00 Funny Boners

Another dangerous title to use today.

Especially given the scandal-du-jour in DC right now :D

I hear there's going to be a remake of this show, starring Rep. Anthony Weiner, Pee Wee Herman, and Brett Favre. ;D
