Lots of weather in Terre Haute. I'm guessing "NOAA Weather Service" was nothing more than audio from the local NOAA radio station and a satellite picture.

Now that's interesting - a major network affiliate and an independent in an adjoining area airing the same programs at the same time - more than once during the day!

I wonder how the stations airing "Muppet Show" during the day treat it - do they dub over the part when the crew sings, "... on the Muppet Show tonight" with "today"? ::)

I think it's more common than you think -- such as line-up is a mere coincidence, especially since most syndicated programming (such as "Donahue") were still "bicycled".

Not that I know of -- at least not when they were seen on Nickelodeon in the 1990s.

That was a typo, but I suppose you could consider it a Freudian slip, given that that show didn't last very long ;D

I was wondering that myself when I saw that in the listings. From some Googling, I can't see any connection between him and Ball State- he's originally from Tulsa and the closest I can find he got to Muncie was when he worked in Chicago.

My guess is that for reasons unknown Paul Harvey was a supporter of Ball State..hince him appearing so much on WIPB. Perhaps Harvey gave them a "private donation" which in turn is one reason why even a Goggle search can turn up nothing.

Another some-what example of this is Carol Burnett back in 1990 giving money to the University of Denver ( DU ). Actually I was in the audience of that Q&A when Carol herself had mentoned this even though Carol Burnett never did say exactly why she was giving money to that school since her daughter Jody at the time had went to the Colorado Institute of Art and not DU. That money must be "top secret" because even today..zero on the net about it.

What exactly was Peggy's 59er Diner? And what cartoons aired as part of it?

Here's an article I came across on Google:

http://books.google.ca/books?id=Lh0DAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA65&lpg=PA65&dq=Peggy's+59er+Diner&source=bl&ots=sB5fHxEHwA&sig=w2XVXEWqZj64skhtUSnjFJXWn1A&hl=en&ei=erC-TffVF4G3tgfmqLjOBQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=7&ved=0CCsQ6AEwBg#v=onepage&q=Peggy's%2059er%20Diner&f=false

The Peggy in question is Peggy Powis, who also worked at one time at WTTV and WTHR.
