In early 1984, I went to Las Vegas with a blind group to do some gaming (gambling). The hotel room had an over-the-air television set and I turned it on once just to see what was on the air. I counted five VHF outlets (going by memory here) and one UHF outlet that was entirely in Spanish. I'm saying all this to ask why the repeats. This isn't a case like Los Angeles where you had four (4) independent VHF channels and at least one independent UHF channel to choose from. The only real reason I can think of for the repeats is that the station didn't have the money at the time to purchase more syndicated fare.

Las Vegas was a pretty small market at the time, so that may have limited their resources. That said, this station captured a large chunk of the local audience, so I doubt they were doing badly.
