Channel 2 News was anchored by Joseph Benti & Sandy Hill and the station fired Jerry Dunphy over the summer. Jerry went to KABC Eyewitness News right away where he began his 14 year run at the station. Jerry co-anchored with Swedish born Christine Lund and they were the most recognized anchorteam in Southern California. The Ch 7 sports director was Stu Nahan and of course Dr George Fischbeck with weather. KNBC was anchored by Jess Marlow at 5:00, Paul Moyer & Kelly Lange at 6:00, and John Schubeck at 11:00. The sports director was non other than Bryant Gumbel. The World at 10:00 on KTLA was anchored by Clete Roberts, check out the YouTube video.

Some great programming on the independent stations. They were the Me-TVs of this era and the 4 of them together enough to keep somebody entertained for hours and hours. Interesting how KTLA has the 700 Club in the morning and Love American Style in afternoon.
