Why CBS's West Coast flagship didn't air "Captain Kangaroo" from its October 3 premiere is beyond me. Might it have something to do with the time difference due to it being produced in New York? It did start airing on Channel 2, on Saturdays only, on August 4, 1956, and finally on a daily basis on January 13, 1958.

Interesting that LA's ABC affiliate didn't start up until the afternoon on weekends (and the indie stations even later) at this late date. Plus the news listing for Clete Roberts reminds us he wasn't just the guy who appeared as a reporter on those episodes of "MASH".
