...bullfighting may have been a tradition in Spain and Latin America, but when was the last time it was regularly seen on Spanish-language TV in United States? It has to be at least the 1970s since I last saw any on WCIU/26 Chicago, when they were running a mainly Spanish-language prime time schedule...

During this same period, bullfights also aired on WNJU/47 Linden/Newark, NJ, as they were transforming into a mainly Spanish-language programming schedule (with a few ethnic/brokered programs a la WCIU).

I see travelogues and Big Picture army shows on KCOP, as well as the same ol same ol Munsters and Patty Duke reruns. This must have been when they were running about 12 movies over and over, and one of the worst indies of the '60s.

Agreed. Channell 13 ("A Chris-Craft Station") was the worst. Grade D movies, Bill Burrud travelogues (mostly shot silent with Burrud's syrupy narration...and don't forget Dialing for Dollars - no guests, no movie, just Alan Sloane talking at the camera for an hour and making phone calls. The jackpot would actually get [pretty large because practically NOBODY was watching.

Sounds like WPIX / 11 in New York during the same period. (The part of showing The Big Picture, The Munsters and The Patty Duke Show, that is; would anyone know which New York station aired Burrud's show?) Otherwise, sounds similar to WOR-TV (whose L.A. sister in those years was KHJ).

From what I've read, over the years KCOP was all over the map with color film chain equipment - RCA TK-26, TK-27 and TK-28's, plus a Cohu chain. I doubt they would've had 35mm films (or 35mm prints of syndicated shows) in their library.

Speaking of their film library - I noticed Don Juan Quilligan being shown this day - which seems to indicate that one of the film packages KCOP had was exactly what WNBC-TV in New York had in their library during this same period (and WNBC's library was pretty thin itself, with some titles being played to death on their Movie 4 showcase, it seems, every other day).

KCOP seemed to be an amalgam, programming- and film-wise, of WPIX, WOR and WNBC in these years.
