Note: Religious Sunday fare was often syndicated it seems to more than one station in the same market, which probably explains why shows hosted by Rex Humbard and Jimmy Swaggart and others aired pretty much everywhere at the time. Not sure if by this stage in the decade satellite transmission to make syndication in general easier had begun regular usage.

NBA Basketball: Three playoff games were played that day. San Antonio beat Houston 114-112 to tie their series at 2 games each. Kansas City beat Phoenix 102-95 to take a 3-1 series lead. Milwaukee beat Philadelphia 109-98 to tie the series 2-2.
