This is the francophone version of "News from Zoos", a CBC program about zoo animals.

8:00: Real Kids

This was, I think, an aborted pilot for a "Real People" spinoff, but featuring kids as anchors and stories that feature or relate to kids. I recall Peter Billingsley being among the cast -- he would later join the cast of the main "Real People" program itself; he, of course, is more notable for his role in "A Christmas Story".

The show was already starting to make headroads on American stations at the time, though mainly Christian stations -- locally here in the Tampa Bay area, WCLF (the flagship of the Christian Television Network) carried the show from around 1980 or so up through the 1990s -- they also carried a Greek-language version on Saturdays, but with a different host; this was due in part of the Greek population in Tarpon Springs.

Telecasts seen in the US usually also included an American telephone number -- early on, telecasts included a number with a 714 area code, which meant that California-based TBN was distributor at the time; later on, it started carrying a 412 number, when WPCB in Pittsburgh began distributing it.

I don't know if any US stations or networks carry "100" today, though many of them are carrying Crossroads' show for kids that was also a long running kids show in Canada -- "Circle Square".

Too bad it wasn't "Bob Barkker". ;D

It was around this time when "The PTL Club" television show was renamed "Jim Bakker", which was (sort of) listed as such on WVII -- apparently, either WAGM did not know of the new title, or they were playing older tapes of the show.

Odd that a PBS station was showing a program sponsored by Mutual of Omaha -- did they offer a clean, unsponsored version to PBS stations?
