...rather infamously, the performance of "Roll Over Beethoven" came to an abrupt and premature end when Chuck Berry took a wild swing around and accidentially struck Doc Severinsen in the eye with the head of his guitar...
 
At the time, WENH-11 (and the other New Hampshire Public Television stations) had a nightly newscast at 7:30 on weeknights titled, as noted above, "New Hampshire News".

Was WETK-33/Vermont ETV's "Vermont Report" at 7:30 P.M. a weekly public affairs program or a nightly newscast??

Given that WENH/NHPTV had a nightly newscast from 1972-81, it's possible WETK/VETV may have, too.

After doing more research, the answer was "Yes": It aired starting in the Fall of m1976 as a nightly news/public affairs series.
