What kind of program was the Energy Expo? Must be engaging to fill up 9 hours of airtime.

It was a program which dealt with energy problems and resources,
using film and discussion among energy spokespersons and the viewing
audience. Each hour was devoted to a single aspect of the energy picture;
for example, oil production and regulation one hour, conservation another.
The program was live with taped segments.

2 PM Soul Train (the Captain & Tennille; Side Effect)

In case anybody was wondering, "Do That To Me One More Time" hit #58 on the Billboard R&B charts around this time.

FWIW, all wrestling (except for Atlanta & DC) would have been Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling (or its sister show, World Wide Wrestling).

Ch 17 in Atlanta was Georgia Championship Wrestling, and ch 20 in DC was WWF.

The Captain & Tennille did "Do That To Me One More Time" on
that particular edition of "Soul Train".

Perhaps I need to go back to my Joel Whitburn Billboard booksto confirm but I believe this was the last number one tune from the 1970's. I do remember however KC and the Sunshine Band's "Please Don't Go" being the first number one song of the then-new decade of the 80's.

"Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes was the last number-one hit of the '70s, getting there on Dec. 22, 1979.
"Please Don't Go" was the first number-one of the '80s, hitting number one on Jan. 5, 1980; that was followed by "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson on Jan. 19, then "Do That To Me One More Time" on Feb. 16, staying number one for a week before "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen became number one on Jan. 26. I got all that from Whitburn.

Correction: "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" hit number one
on Feb. 23, 1980, and stayed there until "Another Brick In
The Wall (Part II)" took over on March 22.
