Odd that most of the ABC stations listed filled that hour with a movie... which caused WWAY, WGHP, WNBE to delay their 11pm news.
 
I agree. I don't remember that many ABC affiliates in
any edition of TV Guide carrying movies at that time.
More than likely, affiliates used the time for either
syndicated reruns or delayed network shows; for instance,
the ABC affiliates in Richmond and Greenville/Spartanburg/
Asheville carried "The Avengers," delayed from Wed 7:30 PM,
while Norfolk's ABC affiliate reran the 1960-61 Western "Stagecoach
West." Chattanooga delayed "Cowboy In Africa" from Mon 7:30 PM,
while Atlanta got "Operation: Entertainment," delayed from Fri 8:30 PM.
