This was a game from the NAIA's short lived national TV package, which closed up shop a few weeks later. I hope to find a list of games this package was supposed to showcase.

From the Ludington Daily News of the summer of 1977, here were the other games that were selected for the NAIA's tv package(WARNING: not all of them may have aired as scheduled):

9-3: Henderson State(AR) vs. East Central State(OK)
9-10: Prairie View A&M(TX) vs. East Texas State
9-17: Millersville State(PA) vs. Slippery Rock State(PA)
10-1: Wisconsin-Platteville vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater
10-8: Grand Valley State(MI) vs. Ferris State(MI)
10-5 through 11-19: Games to be determined
12-3: Division II Championship Game
12-10: Apple Bowl in Seattle(Division I Championship Game)

...hmmm. I wonder how many other major markets in the USA had both a VHF PBS affiliate and a UHF indie signing on the air this late on a Saturday by 1977...
