Tonight, guerrilla raids on Roman garrisons lead to a showdown between Zealot leader Elezar ben Yair (Strauss) and war-weary commander Cornelius Flavius Silva (O'Toole), whose peacemaking efforts are thwarted by power plays in Rome and the ambitious designs of his own centurions in the field.
