This post looks at the week of May 30-June 5, 1982, and includes listings for KAUT's complete programming lineup of the period (including the VEU subscription service) and TBN O&O KTBO-TV. The Oklahoman had begun to include program listings for VEU (Video Entertainment Unlimited) in Television News four weeks earlier (the May 2-8, 1982 issue), at which time, the supplement also included listings for basic cable channels (regional and national superstations like WGN, WTBS and KTVT had been available in the supplement since around 1979), premium services (including HBO, Showtime and Cinemax) and VEU.
Confusingly, though VEU was transmitted over the KAUT signal, the supplement placed the VEU schedule separately from KAUT and other local stations – alongside cable-exclusive networks and cable-originated premium channels – until the June 27 issue, when KSHB/Kansas City (a regional superstation, as was KTVT, at the time) and KTBO were moved from the out-of-area listings logs to the 24-hour grids implemented with the addition of cable listings, Satellite Program Network was dropped from the listings, and Nickelodeon and ARTS (which merged with The Entertainment Channel to become A&E two years later) were folded into a single gridspace. (Note: I have a PDF copy of said May 2 issue of Television News; however, the Oklahoman Archives' copy of the May 2 issue of the supplement and parent edition left out some pages for the Sunday listings including the grid for some cable channels as well as VEU, so I decided to source from the May 30 issue, instead.)
