By fall of '81, KXII dropped those late-night NBC shows in favor of syndicated shows. KTEN picked up the NBC late night package.

KXII didn't run any football from NBC, but did run basketball games from the peacock.

It just jumped out at me that KTEN preempted the first hour of ABC prime for Barry Switzer.

Also Beginning in October KXTX began secular shows on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, as did the rest of teh CBN stations. Before that all nthe CBN stations were non commercial on Sundays while being a typicl independent stations during teh week and Saturday

12 N John Cooper Show (don't know who this is)
12:30 NFL '80 (included is a profile of QB Dan Pastorini, who

1 PM NFL Football: Steelers-Baltimore Colts

John Cooper was the head football coach at the U. of Tulsa during this time. He later coached at Arizona State and Ohio State.

And, I'm a bit surprised NBC's NFL schedule started at 2 PM ET/1 PM CT while CBS got started at 1/Noon.

Colts home games always started at 2 when they were in
Baltimore; maybe somebody can fill us in on whether that
was a decision by the team or by the city.

2 PM starts for the Colts were a relic of Maryland's blue laws, meant to promote church attendance. It also applied to the Orioles. The state finally repealed the law for 1984, but Bob Irsay, because the state wouldn't build a new stadium for him, still moved the club to Indianapolis in the famous(or infamous, depending on one's perspective) Mayflower Move.
