Times best left forgotten

LOL between seeing what WPVI was airing for their Friday late movie, CBS’ dismal line-up, and WPHL, WTXF, and WGBS reaching to the bottom
of the barrel for some of their syndicated shows you got that right! WCAU airing Cops reruns at 5:00 is hysterical.

It’s Friday night with a bad 80’s hangover we’re just a few months away from X-Files and Picket Fences becoming dominant on Friday nights, at least thru the mid 90s.

and channel 10 was first with the “live at 5“ hook for their news. By this point scaled back to 5:30. The swill on channel 3 gave them a run for their money.

This is why I have never understood why quite a few people over the last 15+ years on this board and others have said they miss CBS on WCAU or whatever nostalgia they think they have. The final years weren’t kind at all. WCAU may have been able to steal WPVI’s thunder briefly during the Mendte years at a time when NBC was at its strongest with ABC at its weakest but that’s about it. Mendte left for KYW and had success there until it infamously went off the rails but even with that KYW is still a consistent #2.

LOL I think he was exaggerating. I was trying to find something more recent but this was from last fall which has KYW overall as #2 but still ahead of WXTF in the 25-54 demo.
My bad. I did not note that this was about the TV version of KYW. .. it is the radio station that is 11th.
