"The Bugs Bunny Show" aired on ABC at 12 N. Did Channel 6
air it on delay?

I also noticed a listing for a movie called "Back From Eternity."
That 1956 film was a remake of the 1939 now-classic "Five Came
Back," notable because it had Lucille Ball in a largely non-comic role
(she didn't appear in the remake; too busy with "I Love Lucy"). Turner
Classic Movies shows the original from time to time. The plot is that
a group of air travelers are stranded in the jungle after their plane crashes;
the pilot and co-pilot get the plane working but it can hold only five people;
the rest will be abandoned to their fates. Since I don't know when the movie
will air next, I don't mind giving you a spoiler: Lucy does make it out alive.

According to Wikipedia, which sources The TV Schedule Book, ch 6 carried Bugs in tandem with the network.

Not according to the listing you have from TV Guide. It
shows Genevieve Blatt (whoever she is) at 12 N and "Popeye
Theater" at 12:15; IIRC, "Milton The Monster" aired at 12:30,
and I don't see that listed either. I'm more inclined to trust
TV Guide on this, but it still remains a mystery as to whether
Bugs and/or Milton aired in Philadelphia.

Master of the world at 1130 followed by Castle of the Living Dead at 1am were part of Double Chiller Theater of WFIL TV CHANNEL 6

The Amazing Transparent Man at around 250 or so was the Hollywoods Best feature.

I believe the news sports update at 230 or so came from ABC NEWS.

Usually that late night newscast which ran for years on abc till 1991 was about 15 minutes in length.

Perhaps imediately afterwards ch 6 had a 5 minute or so slides only audio newscast with a live booth announcer before the 3rd movie?

I overlooked something: Bugs airs at 12 N on Ch. 29; it's
not out of the question that the independent picked up
a program pre-empted by an affiliate (I seem to recall this
being the case when Ch. 3 pre-empted "Jeopardy!" and "Who,
What Or Where"), so it seems logical that 29 was carrying the
ABC show. I noticed they also carried "Underdog," pre-empted
on Ch. 10. I'd like to see 29's Sunday schedule, to see if they
picked up "Super 6" from NBC or "Milton The Monster" from ABC
and aired them on delay.

Sorry my apologies misread the time for the abc weekend report it aired at 240 and the hollywoods best movie the amazing transparent man started at around 255am

i wonder if ch 6 did a live slides only audio newscast after the 3rd movie as other stations did in those days followed by the sign off sermon and then the classic sign off film?

if they did it just wasnt listed in the tv guides.

Philly was full of many examples of indies picking up network shows...WPHL picked up the noon-1pm NBC programs weekdays (Jeopardy at noon, Swingin' Country at 12:30, NBC News at 12:55) and also showed Pioneers at 1, and Let's Make a Deal from NBC at 1:30. Blatt's show also aired on WGAL- they ran it Mondays 12:15pm, blowing out the last 15 minutes of the normally 30 min Noonday on 8.

NO Channel 29's Bugs Bunny was not from ABC. They ran syndciated pre 48 color cartoons from Merrie Melodies and Looney Toons. ABC ran a mix of post 48 episodes that were at those points not in syndication. Channel 6 also owned pre 41 colorized Porky Pig cartoons and the post 48 syndicated Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig and Warner Bros Cartoons. They had these until 1977 or 1978. Those went to Channel 17 in 78 then to 48 in 80 and back to 17 in 83. Chances are Channel 6 aired ABC's Bugs Bunny on delay.
