I wonder what ever happened to this show?

It was an Hispanic "Sesame Street" as I recall.
A PBS production that for some reason ran on KDKA as well as on WQED
(despite the fact that Pittsburgh has an absolutely tiny Hispanic population)

In the early-1980s (at least), WTSP in Tampa Bay also carried Villa Alegre on Saturday mornings. I also read somewhere that WJIM (WLNS) in Lansing also carried the show on Saturdays, though I don't know how big the Hispanic population was in Michigan.

The Hispanic population is actually quite large in Michigan. The state has a lot of agriculture, and many Mexican workers
have come there to work on beet farms and in orchards. Some of the towns out in the Thumb have large Hispanic populations.
(the most truly excellent Mexican restaurant I know is located 30 miles from the Canadian border!)

There also used to be TV Guide listings for WJNL-TV/19 from Johnstown(at that time, a CBS affiliate that was only on in the evening).
Where's that station in the listings?

That station was not in the newspaper listings used as the source.

None of the Pittsburgh newspapers listed WJNL because that station could not actually be received here.

On the other hand many people in the Pittsburgh area could get WJAC. It was not until the mid-1980's
when Channal 19 signed on as WFAT with more power from a different transmitter site that you could
reliably catch it in Pittsburgh.

The random hilliness of this region made over-the-air anolog TV reception a real hit or miss proposition.
Particularly true in Johnstown, which lays in a very deep valley up in the foothills.
