The date will be familiar to many as the date of the 1974 Super Outbreak of tornadoes, so this should give an idea of what network programming was (assumedly) interrupted on stations from Ohio to Alabama that evening (either for news bulletins or because stations had been knocked off the air). There's an aircheck of WHAS-TV Louisville interrupting what looks like Sonny & Cher for a local report, since Louisville itself had taken a direct hit from a twister as did several communities in its viewing area.
