Why wasn't Captain Kangaroo on in San Antonio at that time? Did KENS not carry Captain Kangaroo from its premiere in 1955?

Also KONO-12(KSAT now) carrying American Bandstand the full 2 hours. How many stations besides San Antonio carried the full 2 hours?

WOAI-4 carried Command Performance at 10:20 PM which I assume would be a movie. Could it be that WOAI at first didn't carry Jack Paar or they carried it but he was off that night because of the 4th of July.

By July 1958 ABC was carrying American Bandstand from
3 to 3:30, switching to Who Do You Trust? from 3:30 to 4,
then coming back to Bandstand from 4 to 5 (except in
Philadelphia, where Bandstand stayed on from 3 to 5).
That had been ABC's policy since November 1957. I never
knew any station other than WFIL (WPVI) carried the full
two hours of Bandstand. I'd like to know, too, if any other
ABC affiliates pre-empted Johnny Carson's game session
for the extra 30 minutes of Dick Clark.

Notice how little news there is on any of the stations. Of course this was back in the days when news was considered a public service obligation, not a money cow. The reporters and presenters were working stiffs just like everybody else--no millionaire anchors in those days.
