This may be a local program -- NBC had a Saturday morning show called "Go", but that show left the air in 1976.

World Cup highlights-loosely translated as 'The Best of the Cup'(which had been held in Argentina that June; believe that was the first year live coverage of the tournament was shown in the US).

Possible. KRIS/6 Corpus Christi had it too. I remember
the NBC show but not this; indeed, I found it strange to
be on a 1978 listing. Nevertheless, we all missed one since
there were two completely different shows on NBC called "Go!"

These were reruns of Go!. I have a Saturday listing from 1975 that shows that Go! was on at 11:30 AM when it was a new show. NBC was rerunning several shows from the mid 1970's on Saturday mornings during this time including Go! and Land Of The Lost.

...also The Bay City Rollers Show. Mark Evanier, head writer on the show, has an interesting story (unfortunately not yet online at his http://newsfromme.com blog) about how he found out that NBC was rerunning the show in the 6:00-7:00 hour, before the "official" Saturday morning schedule, for almost five years without letting producers Steve & Marty Krofft know -- and paying anyone involved in the show for the post-'79 screenings...

That would explain it. WATE Knoxville, still an NBC affiliate
in 1978, ran Go! at 7 AM (ET). BTW, it was KCEN Waco/Temple,
not KRIS, that carried Go! Both stations are on Channel 6, but
TV Guide used a black 6 with a part black/part white background
for KCEN (somewhat difficult to read).

Wow, so that's ALWAYS when PBS would have those pledge drives? I think most station had 2 weeks of pledge in March, and one in December. But it's interesting, because that would have been the first week of the new Sesame Street season.
