I wonder if that program about Blake Edwards was saved.
It would be very timely right now, given his recent passing.

I noticed, too, on one of the listings for "Carol Burnett And Friends"
that Steve Lawrence was guest; not unusual since he was practically
a regular anyway, especially in those last few months after Dick Van Dyke
left. He and Ken Berry made so many appearances that the booth announcer
at the Greensboro station that carried the show, in his promos, would refer
simply to "Steve" and "Ken" as if they were on an equal footing with Vicki Lawrence,
Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway (don't remember too many with Lyle Waggoner).

I was thinking the same about the Donahue on KNBC...wonder if he tried any of those moves for Marlo afterwards? :D

The only Carol Burnett Show episodes, at first, that were edited down for Carol Burnett & Friends were from seasons 6-10 (1972-77), while Harvey Korman was still very much there; when CB&F was first syndicated, the 11th season which had Dick Van Dyke's ill-fated run was yet to be produced, and it wasn't until years later (the late '80's, I.I.N.M.) that any shows from that final season were edited down and put into the mix (from what I've heard from people who saw the show on TBS in the late 1980's and early '90's).

As to why none of the first five seasons (1967-72) were so edited down: It had more to do with "dual ownership" issues (Bob Banner co-owns the first 133 or 134 shows, being that they were made during Miss Burnett's 10-year contract that was in effect from 1962-72, and the companies responsible for the program in that period were Burngood, Inc. and Bob Banner Associates in association with the CBS Television Network), rather than Carol's stated claims of not being satisfied with how the show was in its early years.

Does anyone have any idea where KSCI got their Australian news from during this time? My guess is that it either came from the ABC (that is the Australian Broadcasting Commission), or ethnic broadcaster SBS, or maybe one Australia's three commercial networks (Seven, Nine and/or Ten). Anyone got a clue?
