Wasn't the original WSRZ on 102.5? When I attended REI (the First Phone wonder school) I remember them with a jazz-oriented AOR and the ID "WSRZ Sarasota-St. Petersburg..making waves on Tampa Bay".

Indeed it was, though I don't recall it ever being jazz-oriented. I'd call it more of an early AAA, way before the term was invented. I think they were doing that format even in the mid-ish 70s. Sometime in the 80s they changed calls to WHVE & the WSRZ calls got picked up by 106.3 (AAA format stayed on 102.5, the 106.3 WSRZ was CHR, then oldies).
