Note that "Top Story" was still on KING-tv at 6:30pm! It was a great attempt at a local version of the old "Nightline" program. However, it took alot of resources -- Mike James and Lori Matsukawa plus several reporters and commentators -- to put on a 30-minute program. Also, it made it difficult to cover stories fully at 5pm, as they didn't want to divert viewers from "Top Story" at 6:30pm. So, the top story of the day only got a tease at 5pm.

WHOOPS-I put this in National TV! ::) ::)
