5 Wipeout [what was this?]

Wipeout(no relation to the current ABC reality competition show) was a short lived syndicated game show aired in the 1988-1989 season if I remember correctly.

It was taped at Paramount Studios in Hollywood and was hosted by the former host of the CBS game show Press Your Luck: Peter Tomarken.

More info about it can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipeout_(1988_U.S._game_show)

Yes it was -- it was a short-lived ABC late-night talk show co-hosted by Spencer Christian and Ross Shafer (the latter already-known in Seattle as a regular on "Almost Live"). It was presented more or less as a test series, with only selected affiliates carrying the show. (One of these was WTSP in Tampa Bay, where I had a chance to watch it.) Also, as it was a test program, the stations got all the commercial time, unlike a network or bartered syndicated show, where they only got some local commercial time.

My mistake! The movie was on 4. The daycare special was 60 minutes.

"B.L. Stryker" or "Champagne Charlie"? Initially, I thought it was the latter, as hockey was on 2 earlier, and seen live in eastern Canada. And considering that "Charlie" was made in 1989, I thought 22 got it from a network.

"B.L. Stryker." I don't know why Chamapagne Charlie was on 22 the same year it was released. Wonder if they got a syndication network that aired it? Eric Stein may be able to help on why a 1989 movie was on a mostly barter indie in the same year it was released.
