To answer my own question about Nancy Ames on KPRC: it is the same Nancy Ames who was the "TW3 Girl" in the 1960s. After "That Was The Week That Was" ended she and her husband moved to Houston and she got a show on Channel 2.
And I should point out about my dog that he watched Don Ho with my mom. She loved variety shows and even in the '50s would never miss either Tennessee Ernie Ford or Bob Crosby, both of whom were on in daytime. I was still at the University of Georgia, and Don Ho's show was not carried by either then-ABC affiliate WXIA or WLOS. What he did watch with me, once I moved out to Texas, was "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show"; on Saturday mornings all I had to say was, "Hey Mike! Want to watch Bugs?" and he'd make a beeline to the set, waiting for me to turn on that wascally wabbit.
