If they followed the lead as most other PBS stations at the time, I imagine that "The Electric Company" was seen at 5:30.

This was the special that launched the Chipmunks back into popularity -- a couple of years later, they would return to NBC in a new Saturday morning series. It is unclear who directed the special, though Chuck Jones was listed as a consultant and character designer.

Thanks! I checked several editions of The Spokesman-Review from around that date, and none of them had KSPS listed at 5:30. Must have been an oversight on their part. There's no Sunday edition "TV Week" currently available for that week, either. And the Spokane Daily Chronicle only listed from 6 pm (though their listings were more detailed during than those in the S-R this period).

Whomever compiled these old papers for archival purposes sure didn't make it easy to be a nerd. ;)

Kinda like the same way "The Simpsons" got their start - except Bart didn't have his holiday hit record out twenty years prior... ::)

I actually think they might have had 3-2-1 Contact, since that was shortly after it premiered.
