Retro Television Network- A must-see

I know that RTN has been talked about on these boards, however, I suggest that everyone watch the feed if they haven't already using the link below. So far, I watched Mad About You, Family Ties, The Beverly Hillbillies, Get Smart, Hogan's Heroes, The Lucy Show, Matlock and Cheers, and boy was it a treat. Not only was I once again re-aquainted with these shows, but there was limited commercials, and no pop-ups on screen (just a colorful RTN11 logo on the bottom right), not to mention shows started on time. Hopefully, the website has a tracking device that monitors how many people are watching the feed and where they live, so the channel can reach cable systems and satellite providers nationwide. With the news it will go national on July 7, there's many possibilities.

RTN feed:

I would definitely like to see RTN go national and be added to more cable and satellite systems and give TV Land some real competition. They need to go to all classic TV and drop most of their original shows if they do though.

I've been trying to get to RTN's website, but all I get is a blank page. Does anyone know an address that actually works?
rtn11.com is the site itself :)

That worked. Thanks!

One other thing I realized that I'd like to see RTN drop if they want to compete with TV Land is infomercials. :-\ THat's one thing TV Land actually does right.

Yeah, but RTN11 is a local station, so I doubt they have the financial backing to go 24/7. In a way it's good, because I can't get myself off the feed because it's so good.

ALSO...How is the reception on everyone's feed? Mine hasn't been so good in the past few days.

Caught it last time I was in Buffalo (WNGS), and have seen it on KU Band Satellite feed at work. Good stuff! Liked the occasional "retro-mercials" as well.

I think they do -- at least whatever can fulfill the stations' E/I requirements.
They do?? You mean like SESAME STREET?! Mister Rogers' Neighborhood? The Electric Company? Zoom? 3-2-1 Contact? Square One TV? Those types of shows? I really wish it would!

Their logo reminds me of UPN's first logo, except it's all squares.

Considering that this is the RTN station in Buffalo, do they carry any shows locally that are different from the network? I noticed that they have Major League Baseball from the Yankees, Mets, and Indians listed.

Also, tonight at approximately 8:00 PM the live feed is just a blue screen with the sound from the show that is on.

I see what you mean -- according to WNGS's (RTN11) website, they show only the standard, modern E/I fare that many other stations show (such as "Beakman's World", "Kicking It", etc.). If they're really aiming for Retro, they should've tried to get shows like "New Zoo Revue" and "Big Blue Marble" -- the former's in high demand again due to E/I.

Also, I agree that they show too much infomercials in late-night and mornings. And why do they have poker in that schedule?

WNGS's sched, of course, probably does not reflect what other RTN affils show. But it appears that they have a long way to go.

Thank god I'm not the only one that has the blue screen. There must be a problem with the feed because from yesterday onward the picture has been lousy, the audio and picture are delayed a few seconds, and everytime a scene changed from one person to another the screen always split. It's hard to explain. I don't know who to contact to tell them of the problem. I'm missing it already.

Im getting a blue screen also right now......

Using wmp9......

Ah well,i think it was too good to last :(

I hope they get it fixed......

I emailed them and told them about the error..... (Still nothing)

Expecting a response from Equity Broadcasting? Silly man... :)

Anyone familiar with the travails of W61CE from the New England Board knows exactly how responsive Equity Broadcasting is when there's a problem at one of their properties.
