This week the Republican National Convention dominates the headlines and the television coverage. Looking back on it from today's perspective, it's astounding how much importance was attached to the political covention. As for 1964, the GOP convention was a doozy - and, as I write, a good example of why political parties don't want conventions like this anymore. Plus, NBC newswoman Nancy Dickerson does an convention fashion preview, Sullivan vs. The Palace, and more.
