Interesting.....One of the few stations that by this point did not air TPiR in pattern (I believe 9 in DC didn't even air it at this point?).

Given the time slot, I'm guessing WBTV aired Price on a day-behind basis...

ACSN Appalachian Cable Satellite Network

This channel was the prececessor to today's TLC, and, as the listings indicate, was on the air only during the day -- around this time, ACSN shared transponder space with the Home Theater Network (HTN), which was one of many HBO-wannabees that featured movies and specials appropriate for family viewers. In Pinellas County, Group W Cable (Bright House) carried both ACSN and HTN, though you needed to subscribe to HTN to see ACSN.

Of course, looking at ACSN's schedule from 1983 and TLC's schedule today, you wouldn't even know that both channels were related to each other.

Was this program syndicated or a local WGN program? Might have been a short-lived syndicated show, as Farber had his local New York radio talk show on WMCA at the time. Anyone know any details?

In 1977, WKBD in Detroit hired Farber as a successor to the late Lou Gordon -- unfortunately, he did not have the same staying power as Lou, as he was off the air by 1978. Here's a TVG ad on the launch of Barry's talk show on WKBD:

"Peter & The Magic Egg" - probably an Easter-themed special. "Me & Dad's New Wife"... not so much... was this an underground afterschool special?

It's probably a "Young People's Special", an occasional series of specials syndicated by Multimedia (of which owned WYFF at the time).
