CHAN itself still carries the Variety Club telethon today, but the last time I checked, it featured mainly CHAN's own personalities and Bob McGrath of "Sesame Street", and its performances are largely pre-recorded specials that you would normally see on PBS during pledge season.

I don't get the listing of ABC News at 10:30 on Ch. 4.
In 1969 ABC had a 15-minute newscast at 11 (ET/PT),
which was delayed until just before sign off on many
affiliates. "ABC Scope" had been canceled the year before
(it had aired Saturdays at 10:30), and the Alphabet Network's
next attempt at a half-hour public-affairs program, "The Reasoner
Report" in 1973, was more of a magazine show than a straight
newscast. I do remember ABC trying an early-Saturday-evening
newscast, which Ted Koppel anchored at one point, from 1975
to about 1977 or '78, giving it up, and not trying it again until
1985.

In 1969 Saturdays at 10:30 was affiliate time on ABC; here in my neck
of the woods I remember WGHP carrying the talent show "The All
American College Show," WLOS carrying Joe Pyne, and WXIA (then
WQXI) carrying wrestling.

With the absence of a "regular" show in the 10:30/9:30 slot on Saturdays, could ABC also
have fed its 15-minute newscast at 10:30, in addition to 11? However that still doesn't
explain what filled the other quarter-hour in the listings.

All the listings said was News at that time slot listing Don Dickson as the anchor, I wasn't sure what was what there since I couldn't find any info on Dickson on the web to know for sure if the 6:30 and 10:30 were network or local, I had to take a guess given that KOMO had news listed at 10:30 and 11... ???

ABC didn't feed its late-Saturday newscast until 11, and it
was 15 minutes. So I'm convinced that Ch. 4 did a local
newscast at 10:30, which--while uncommon--was not out
of the realm of possibility, and followed with the network
news at 11, since I noticed there was a movie at 11:15.
