On this date: Sunday February 29th, 1976 is only a week before PBS began its Festival '76 Membership Pledge Drive (PBS' second national membership and public awareness campaign in support for public television) for many PBS stations including my local station: KPBS San Diego beginning Sunday March 7th, 1976 and instead of 11 days (1 week), It is NOW 15 Days (2 weeks) running all the way through Sunday March 21st!! Join the Fabulous Celebration on Public TV!!

WRC is still WRC. WTOP became WDVM, and now it's WUSA.
You are correct on WRC, I thought the radio changed, the AM affiliate is WWRC, I knew WTOP 9 became WUSA, I don't remember that pit stop at WDVM.

It was WDVM from 1978 to 1986. 'D' for District of Columbia, 'V' for Virginia, and 'M' for Maryland.

I lived down there in the mid 70s, I actually like that DVM call sign for the 3 locales, why did they go WUSA? I suppose because they're in D.C.

Worked for 44 years:D...the ND was quoted at the time of the calls change that it was to show viewers that WDVM wasn't just a Hagerstown station

Does anyone remember that WBOC channel 16 in Salisbury, MD carried all 3 networks at one time?
