Just FYI - The Inquirer did run a correction the next day stating the BIA number of $27 million was incorrect. The station's "audited" 2005 revenue was 32 million; for 2006, it was $32.1 million ... again, as previously stated, according to B101 - but why would they lie?

So give the Inky points for trying, I guess.

Sooooo 'ysp...$15 mil x 10 = $150 mil ? Now do we devalue that number by dividing 41%, the number of revenue loss and the projected downward revenue trend until the deal is finalized? Whoa....I think we would be back the the $15 mil mark...HONEY.....Where's my check book?

i've been saying it for a while, but BEN-FM is doing good, and is the first successful station (that has longtivity)on 95.7 since FLN. The 12+ numbers have never shown it, but in 2 key demos (which was posted once) they were in the top 5.

I like Ben. It sounds even better than the few jack stations i've heard. I'm glad GM jumped on it, before CBS ruined 98.1 by flipping to jack.

Seems to me that CBS ruined 98.1 a long time ago. Even though they're flat, I think they will stick with oldies for now. In NY, 101.1 lost millions last year after making the switch.

CBS will probably keep OGL as it is til it starts losing money. Then they will make a switch so that it starts to lose even more money. Seems to be the trend.

I noticed that WPEN isn't even listed. Is Greater Media too embarrassed to release the figures? Have they lost even more money by switching to sports than they did after switching to oldies? Or is it that they didn't have enough room on the spreadsheet to type a 3 or 4 digit percentage loss?

I'll wait to hear from Greater Media on that one.

Stations don't generally release the data (WBEB is an exception)... a company that specilizes in appraisals and valuations does estimates based on data on market billing and reports from different persons knowledgable of the market conditions. WPEN supposedly billed about $3 million in the year 2006.

RATINGS DON'T COUNT

People keep asking why stations flip when they have been getting good ratings. Not all ratings are created equal. Advertisers pay more to reach certain types of listeners than they do to reach others.
