Does anybody know the projected radio revenue for the Chicago market for '07? I'm also trying to get Power Ratio for various formats in the windy city, too. Any assistance would be appreciated.

'07 was $555 million, and '08 is projected to be $522 million. The peak was $608 million in '03.

Hi David, how have you been?

My question for you is do you think that the decline in the '08 revenue has more to do with the tough economy or do you believe
as others do, that this decline in radio revenue is going to continue to slide down year after year?

Thanks, TR1992

Thanks for the info. Do you know the power ratio for various formats in the market to predict revenue via share potential?

Power ratios by format are a bit tough to analyze, as there are management factors involved. A good format with a sucky sales team will have a low ratio. A well sold format that is usually a weak performer can look well.

Further, it's best to do the ratios on a 4-book average since ratings dips can make a station look stronger than usual.

Give me a couple of the stations you are interested in and I'll give you the ratio per 2007 estimated billings.

I'll butt in for a moment to quote from the Chicago income raking for 2007 as quoted from Bob Feder's column in the Sun-Times:

Here is the 2007 revenue ranking, as reported by 29 Chicago radio stations (followed by total revenues and share of the market):
CHICAGO RADIO REVENUES
1. WBBM-AM (780) $47.516M 9.5%
2. WGN-AM (720) $43.597 8.7
3. WTMX-FM (101.9) $35.282 7.1
4. WGCI-FM (107.5) $29.634 5.9
5. WUSN-FM (99.5) $27.106 5.4

From other sources I read David is good and has the data to go with it.
