Reverb on Kiss 102.7 Florence

I'm staying in Florence on business and noticed today that Kiss 102.7 is running reverb in its processing chain. It gives the station a very loud, Z100-ish sound though there is some nasty clipping on voice. How long have they been doing it and what do you think of it, Shoals folks?

I haven't heard it but noticed they have changed 100.3 to Kiss from Wild also. The processing on 100.3 has always jumped out at me. Is there a different in the 2 if you are able to compare them Whit?

I didn't get a chance to compare the two but 102.7 has by far the loudest sound in town. Like you said, it definitely jumps out at you.

100.3 sounds better than both if the CHRs here in Memphis. It's not grungy sounding either. I'm sure that's is an omnia 6 box. Flinn has one on 103.9 in Earl Ar also.

100.3 or 100.7?

When did Kiss come on the air? I discovered them while traveling northern Alabama last week. They sounded really good. Too bad the signal isn't as good in Huntsville. They could really kick WZYP's butt if they did.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if they possibly have plans on maybe requiring a translator for Huntsville? They cover most of all of the rest of the Huntsville market area with 102.7 except for Huntsville and central/eastern Madison County. I heard a drop today say "The Tennessee Valley's new number one hit music station" instead of the usual "The Shoals number one hit music station" so I'm just curious if Huntsville coverage is possibly in the works. I also found it funny to hear that Star 94.9 was using the SAME slogan "The shoals number one hit music station" LOL!

I got a chance to listen to Kiss today. They're still sounding great, and yes they are much louder and clearer sounding than any other Shoals station. They were beginning to worry me for a while there with their playlist. It was kinda getting a little too loose & crazy with some strange cuts (and flops) being played, but they seem to have tightened that back up from what I've heard today compared to a couple weeks ago. They'd definitely make a good run in Huntsville if they had the signal.

I'm with you jsu. Where's the website!?

It might cut a little close to the signal of WBDX in Trenton if they wanted to move to Huntsville, though it looks like there really isn't much in the way. Just read your post more closely saying that they should put a translator in Huntsville. Oops.

Apparently there is an app for your smartphone where you can listen to Kiss 102.7. I don't remember what it was though.

Yea I have TuneIn Radio on my Droid that you can pretty much listen to any live streaming radio station on. They carry Kiss FM's stream. It'll eat up your data listening too much though if you aren't careful.
