Reverb

Not sure if I'm halucinating or not, but it sounds like Love added a very small (But there if you listen close) touch of reverb.

Nice add!
______________

I am big fan of reverb, especially on gold-based formats like Love FM. But, I can't really hear it on the songs. I can hear it on dry and minimally produced spots, but the type of 'verb they're using is very light and "wispy". And with their non-agressive processing, it's not getting "sucked up" sufficiently by the compression. There's no point in using reverb if you can't hear it.

Jesus...I am such a friggin' loser. Posting about reverb on a Saturday night. I am a poor excuse of a human being. I am pathetic.

That said, I will probably stay up until they play "I Can't Go For That" to see if I can hear the reverb on the sparse yet funky drum intro.

And, no...amazingly I'm not a virgin.

Don't feel bad. I was up at 5 in the morning on a Sunday listening to JoAnn Genette talking about SIDS just to hear if 103.5 had any reverb left. It's there but fainter then 100.3s.
______________

It always seemed to me that stations turned off reverb for public affairs and religious shows. WCFL and WLS both did during the times they were using reverb--I can't remember if B96 did during the Mike Joseph "Hot Hits!" days--or if they even had public affairs during those days. (I guess they did, since it was before deregulation.)
