Review - 96-9/FM Talk

First of all, I review stations the same way Ebert does movies (i.e. thumbs up or down - BTW, I'm not sure Ebert himself is ever coming back to his own show).

That said, we're up to WTKK (called WKKK by some). Looking strictly ratings-wise, I see this station going WAY down, principally because of the Plagiarist vs. his predecessor (the A-Man). You think Tommy Taxes' ratings are bad? Barnicle Bill will be lucky if he has a fraction of 1% among the main adult demo. As a net result, 'TKK's ratings will fall across the board, including their two main bread-and-butter shows Eagan and Braude and Jay Severin. (I get the feeling that Eagan and Braude was a close third to Imus among 'TKK's hosts, both clearly behind Severin.)

Next up - Mix 98-5

You see the ratings going way down. What were they in the winter book? Before his firing, Imus was eighth 25-54 adults, but I don't know the share or rating. What were they? What do you attribute Barnicle's decline to?

Next up - Mix 98-5

Who calls it "WKKK"? Who are "some" - are they the same folks who are so often featured in news reports (i.e. "some people say...")? WTKK is not particularly conservative as topic-oriented talkers go. Furthermore, even if some of the programs are conservative does not mean that those shows should be compared with the KKK.

Anyone who makes such a comparison hasn't a clue about the KKK - what they are about, their history, or their behaviour. You toss snide comments like that around without knowing the fire that you're playing with. Does 96.9 Talk espouse white separatism? Segregation? The superiority of the white race? Burning crosses? Don't be ridiculous. By the way, we have one ex-KKK senator left in the U.S. Capitol. Know who he is? Sen. Byrd, Democrat of West Virginia. Racism knows no party lines.

Furthermore, your comment belies a lack of knowledge about the conservative point of view. It also shows that you hardly listened to WTKK - which (again) is not even a 'conservative' talker. And, even if it was (like WRKO) your comment would still be offensive.

Please do everyone a favor and think before hitting that "post" button.

As for the point of view, those on the Left might consider anything to the right of Air America as being
far right wacko talk (even "moderates")...and vice versa on the Right. Whether or not the person making the
opinion has actually listened to the station, who's to say...
Barnicle--conservative? Eagan and Braude?...?

I miss Imus. It was the lone program -for me- worth anything on TKK. I may as well take it off preset.
