Review - WZLX

First and foremost, I will give WZLX credit for being the first classic rock station in America. I'm not anti-classic rock; in fact I think Boston should have two of them. For a long while there were two classic rockers - 'ZLX and WROR. Of course, once Star flipped to automated classic rock (I still don't hear anything but) 'ZLX's ratings started to be badly affected. Also, Mix going classic rock on weekends, and yet another CBS station having long periods of playing out-of-format classic rock (both Mix and 'ZLX are also CBS stations; I'll get to that other station ASAP) are hampering 'ZLX's ratings further (it's a hair ahead of Mix in the top 10, and with similarly-formatted Mike around is having its top 10 status threatened).

In short, I do like the classic rock, but Aero, AC/DC, Zep, Floyd, Skynyrd, Hendrix, etc. should only be limited to two signals, and NOT out of formats (i.e. AC)!

Later today (or tomorrow): WFNX

Too narrow a playlist;if you hear the same 20-30 y.o. song every week how is classic. How bout playing "funeral for A Friend" once in awhile instead of "Crocodile Rock?"

I hear that one occasionally on 96.5 WMLL "The Mill" from Manchester NH, which throws a few tunes that you don't hear on WZLX into their playlists once in a while.
